HADLEY, Mass. – Swimmers and divers from nine NESCAC schools have qualified for the 2018 NCAA Division III Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. This year's championships will be held March 21-24 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corporation will serve as co-hosts.
The official list of swimmers who qualified was recently released, while divers competed over the weekend in the Regional Diving Championships to qualify for the national championship.
NESCAC Champion Williams will be the most represented team in the conference with 14 swimmers. Emma Waddell, the defending national champion in the50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, will lead the Ephs in the four-day event.
Amherst will be represented by nine swimmers and one diver, while Connecticut College will send seven swimmers to the meet, including Mary Erb, the reigning champion in the 200 breaststroke. Bates and Bowdoin will each have six swimmers compete in the meet. Five Middlebury swimmers will travel to Indiana, while four Wesleyan swimmers will make the trip. Trinity and Tufts will each send one swimmer, respectively.
