WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Williams claimed its third straight NESCAC Women's Golf Championship on Sunday on its home course at Taconic Golf Club (par-71; 5,819-yards). The Ephs extended their one-shot lead over Amherst following day one into a 12-shot advantage to win the title.
With a second round of 306 to mirror their first day score the Ephs posted a two-day total of 612. Amherst finished with a 36-hole total of 624 to take runner-up honors.. The Mammoths carded a second day round of 317.
The Middlebury Panthers took third place with a team total of 628, shooting 315 on Sunday. A final round of 329 placed the Hamilton Continentals fourth with a score of 679. Bowdoin and Bates rounded out the field, finishing fifth and sixth, respectively, with scores of 700 and 815.
Two Trinity golfer played as individuals, marking the first time Bantams have participated in the event. Sarah Vimini posted rounds of 93 and 92 for a total of 185. Teammate Gabby Christensen finished the tournament with a score of 216 (107-109).
Elizabeth Gudas of Williams (pictured right) took home medalist honors with a final round of one-over par, 72 and a two-day total of 147 (75-72). The Ephs’ Cordelia Chan was second at 149 (74-75). Jessica Jeong (73-79) of Amherst was third at 152, while teammate Morgan Yurosek carded a 154 (78-76) to place fourth. Middlebury's Blake Yaccino rounded out the top-five golfers with a fifth place score of 155 (80-75).
